REMOVE THE MASK - Ray Barretto Tutorial

As this week's novelty, we bring the complete transcription of the song “Quítate la Máscara”, a composition by Hugo Gonzalez, a great hit by master percussionist Ray Barretto, recorded in the album “Barretto Power” (Fania 1970), with Adalberto Santiago on vocals and Louis Cruz on piano.

This song is a reference in salsa dura, in the key of C minor and in clave 2-3; it has a medium tempo of 180 bpm, an easy and tasty mambo, plus some chords by fourths characteristic of the style.
