This week we will open the complete transcription of the song „Fuego en el 23“, a composition by the legendary Cuban musician Arsenio Rodriguez, inspired by a long history.
Years later, in 1969, under the leadership of Maestro Enrique „Quique“ Lucca and the Arrangement of the great Papo Lucca, the first version of Sonora Ponceña was released on the album „Fuego en el 23“ (Inca Records 1969) with the voices of Luigi Texidor and Tito Gómez.
Twenty-five years later it was updated and Sonora Ponceña released a new version on the album „Jubilee“ in 1985.
In Piano Salsa, we wanted to transfer the first version, which was taken from the Sonora Ponceña, in order to hear one of the greatest pianists in the history of Salsa, Maestro Papo Lucca.
