This week's new release is the complete transcription of the song \u00abQu\u00edtate la M\u00e1scara\u00bb, a composition by Hugo Gonzalez, a great success of master percussionist Ray Barretto, recorded on the album \u00abBarretto Power\u00bb (Fania 1970), with Adalberto Santiago on vocals and Louis Cruz on piano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This song is a reference in a hard salsa style, in the key of C minor and in clave 2-3; it has a slow tempo of 180 bpm, an easy and savory mambo, as well as some quarter notes characteristic of the style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
