Here's how each course is organized
Theory
Harmony, scales, tensions, and structures applied directly to salsa. Understand what you're playing, listen to what's happening, and learn how to apply it on the piano.
Practice
Exercises, hand independence, harmonic progressions, and play-alongs to develop ease, coordination, and fluency at the piano.
Montunos
Learn how to play montunos step by step, with real examples of son, guaracha, guajira, pachanga, descarga, and timba.
Repertoire
Complete pieces, explained step by step, with a tutorial and a note-for-note transcription of the score so you can learn them directly on the piano.
The four modules are on each level. You can move through them at your own pace, with no set dates or deadlines.
Who teaches you?
Rafa Madagascar
25 years immersed in music—from jazz to salsa—as a pianist, producer, arranger, and composer.
He has transcribed hundreds of songs note for note and personally recorded every lesson in Piano Salsa. Here, you won't find a rotating cast of teachers: you'll learn directly from a musician who plays, composes, and teaches what he knows.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know Before You Buy
Do I need to know how to read sheet music?+
No. Everything is explained step by step in the video; the keyboard appears on the screen, and the key lights up for each note. Most sheet music is also displayed on the screen and can be downloaded as a PDF.
Is a keyboard enough for me, or do I need a piano?+
A keyboard will do. With 61 keys, you have more than enough for the entire syllabus.
Will I be charged every month?+
No. You pay once, and that's it. We don't save your card information, and there are no renewals.
How much time do I need each week?+
With 3 or 4 hours a week, you can make good progress. If you have less time, you'll move at a slower pace.
I play by ear. Where do I start?+
We recommend starting with the "Basic" level to reinforce your theory and learn the names of the notes you already know how to play. This will give you a more solid foundation for moving forward.
I'm starting from scratch, and I'm not young anymore. Is this right for me?+
Yes. The Pre-Basic course is designed to start from scratch, no matter how old you are.
Can I download the sheet music?+
Yes. The sheet music is available in PDF format, and the backing tracks are available in MP3 format.
Can I pay in pesos or dollars?+
Prices are displayed in your currency. You'll be charged in euros, and you'll see the exact amount before confirming.
